This site hosts a series of workshops to share practical tips, virtual experiments and other concrete tools that families – even those with little time, few resources and no STEM exposure or teaching experience – can use to engage their children’s learning.

NASA’s Universe of Learning provides resources and experiences that enable youth, families, and lifelong learners to explore fundamental questions in science, experience how science is done, and discover the universe for themselves.

NASA provides a resource for community-based organizations to stage events that explore the wonders of NASA science, and celebrate the contributions of women to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Gabriella Wilkerson of Northampton earned her Girl Scout Gold Award by creating free and fun resources for students in grades 4-8. The kits feature science experiments in both English and Spanish along with two videos.

This site features links to 239 websites that help to encourage kids and teens to pursue education and careers in STEM.

In response to the COVID-19 situation we have been working with school districts to provide support for teaching remotely. We offer virtual professional learning programs such as Going Remote with Inquiry-Based Learning and Making Place-Based Learning Phenomenal that can be customized to meet your school district’s specific needs.

Our remote programs:

  • model engaging and effective remote science and engineering instruction
  • align with the NGSS and the MA 2016 STE Framework
  • foster instruction and assessment using the Science and Engineering Practices
  • may be tailored to address the specific needs of your school or district
  • include science content as well as pedagogy

A curated a selection of free, high-quality, trusted, and engaging digital education resources from the extensive PBS LearningMedia library and other WGBH Education initiatives, with a focus on self-directed activities., to support parents and the learners they are caring for.

This is a portal for teachers to access assignable, self-paced, and self-contained activities that provide students and their families with high-quality, standards-aligned material to keep them engaged and learning.
